This page shows a part of arts and game vfx solutions.

Arts includes my own projects, freelance jobs, 2D character design, 3D modelling and texture painting, 2D animations, etc.

I use Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop in 2D, and Blender in 3D.

Recent Job Related Arts

I'd been employed as an Art Lead recently in Aug 2021 to Jul 2022.  My team has 3 members without game industry experience.

In that year, I reponsed for UI/UX design, animations, vfx and quality control.  We finally redeemed 2 games UI/UX design, supported vfx of another game from partner company.  Only one game was released.

Light, Transparent and Performance

This is one of my project.  The whole visual concept is Bulb - Transparent and Light.

A very-early version was made in spring of 2021.  I'd tested the game in a GTX-960 equiped desktop and disappointed to the performance.  The fps is lower than 20.

One of my target is making a game with very high visual quality but can be played smoothly in low-end machine.  And the result was a dead poison for me.

I'd change and re-build the whole thing in URP, and finally successfully played the game by the above desktop with 15x fps.

I control the lights, and rebuild the shading of the bulb and vfx to change the whole performance.

2D rigging and animation for horizontal scrolling game

Character is my original design.  All rigging and animation made in Unity.  Sprites are drawn in Clip Studio Paint.

There is no vfx and sfx in the video.

Character is my original design with hand-painted texture, rigging and animation.

Designed in Clip Studio Paint, and made in Blender.

3D character modelling, painting, rigging

This is freelance job from indie game developer of 超數據世界 (redeem version).

I need to build up cloths, hair, weapon with character reference illustration, and rigging to base 3D body skeleton.

3D modelling, texture painting and rigging is completed in Blender.

2D Character Design and Animation in Unity

This was a project when I'm employed by Uglysoft in 2021.

One of my tasks was making things alive.  I need to change character portrait to 2D animation and make it interactive with player.

I used Unity Animation as 2D skeleton base to rebuild all portrait, not only animated, but built a portrait system to change character facial expression and color for different situation for better performance.

I built a controller in Unity for easy build-up character that compatible to the portrait system.  Even a new developer or artist can setup new characters easily.  The character will have basic idle animation, facial expressions, and interactive with player touch or drags.

I also designed 2 new characters of the project.  However CEO got serious injuiry in accident, the project was closed.
